Conjecture Jenga: A Catalyst for Getting Buy-In to Research Before Development
Unless you're Dyson, the best product features aren't built in a vacuum. Yet, many organizations or management still don't understand or buy-into the idea of conducting customer research and product validation before implementing ideas and functionality they merely believe will add value to a product's experience for the people who use it, with no evidence to back those beliefs up. Conjecture Jenga is a quick game that demonstrates how potentially disastrous that practice can be, and gives you a platform you can leverage to influence or persuade the powers-that-be on the value of user research and validation before, rather than after, product development. We'll play two rounds of the game, each with different steps, then we'll wrap up with a debrief on the experience, how it relates to the work we do, as well as some actionable resources for how you can help bring product experimentation and validation to your teams and your organization (or improve existing practices) so they can move in this sensible direction.
